Driver Awareness Unit (DAU):

The Driver Awareness Unit (or DAU) of the 4WDQLD is a very important part of our association activities. We take this part of education of our members very seriously as we believe that it is vital to not only the safety of our members but to the environment in general for our members to be competent and trained in their pass time activities.

The driver training courses undertaken by this organisation are fully accredited, and only qualified and trained staff is involved in the delivery of such courses.

The DAU consists of qualified club members who give up their time and dedicate it to the education of club members in driving a 4WD vehicle correctly. A 4WD gives you the freedom to visit those hard-to get-to places away from the crowds and to enjoy our magnificent Australian landscape has to offer.

Member who have current qualifications in Workplace Training & Assessment are encouraged to take an active role in the education process of our members in this important area. Club who have members who may suitability qualified are requested to contact the DAU chairperson as soon as possible.

Only members of an affiliated club are able to access the associations accredited Driver Training courses. The courses are provided from the association though the clubs to its members at the very lowest cost possible.

Basics Driver training courses are run over a two-day period, usually at a weekend. This is another good reason for joining an affiliated club. (If there is no club in your area, then give the association a call and we may be able to assist you in setting up a club.)

The DAU and its chairperson are at the clubs disposal to assisting them to schedule a driver training weekend for there members.
